Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus renders leak again

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will be unveiled at the MWC 2018 event on February 25. The flagship Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus have been leaked again and their details have surfaced many times earlier. Now, the device’s design has again surfaced online in the latest renders.

Last week, the first renders of the upcoming Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones appeared on the internet. Now, the new renders of the smartphones showing the device’s back with the rear camera and fingerprint sensor along with Samsung branding have been leaked by dBrand, the phone case maker. The company has also started taking pre-orders for the skins of Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus Specifications

The Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8 inch Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with ~570 PPI. The Galaxy S9 Plus features a similar 6.2 inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with ~529 PPI. Both the displays will comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phones will run on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the box.

Powering the phones will be an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU in the US and an octa core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor with Mali G72MP18 GPU in India. The Galaxy S9 will pack 4GB RAM with 64GB storage while the Galaxy S9 Plus will come with 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. Both the phones will support expandable memory with microSD.

As for the cameras, the Galaxy S9 will sport a 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash along with f/2.4 – f/1.5 variable aperture. The Galaxy S9 Plus will sport a 12MP + 12MP dual rear camera setup with an LED Flash. Both the device’s rear cameras will support 480 FPS super slo-mo recording. For the front cameras, both the phones will come with an 8MP autofocus camera with wide-angle lens.

The S9 duo will be water and dust resistant and come with an IP68 rating. The devices will also feature stereo speakers with Ultra HighQuality Audio Playback. Sensors onboard will include Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor, and Pressure Sensor.

Connectivity options on the devices will include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, and MST. The Galaxy S9 will sport a 3,000mAh battery and Galaxy S9 Plus will come with a 3,500mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus launch event will take place at 6 PM CET (10:30 PM Indian Time) in Barcelona on February 25, 2018. The Samsung flagship phones are expected to go on sale starting on March 16, 2018.
