Samsung Galaxy Watch with Super AMOLED Display Launched: Price and Features

Samsung has released the Galaxy Note 9 in an event yesterday in New York with a bigger display and more powerful S-Pen. At the event, Samsung has launched a new iteration in smartwatch but this time is not called “Gear S” anymore, it is “Galaxy Watch” now.

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch comes with 3G/LTE connectivity and comes in two sizes; 46mm in Silver and 42mm in black and rose gold.

Galaxy Watch Features

The Galaxy Watch comes with a 1.3 inches (for 46mm) or a 1.2 inches (42mm) Super AMOLED touchscreen display which is protected by a Gorilla DX+ glass. The smartwatch comes with 5 ATM water resistance and IP68 certified dust resistance.

The smartwatch comes with a 472 mAh battery on 46mm model and a 270 mAh battery on the 42mm model. The smartwatch runs the Tizen OS 4.0 which is Samsung’s own operating system. The Galaxy Watch is powered by a 1.15 GHz Exynos 9110 dual-core processor.


For sensors, Galaxy Watch includes a heart rate monitor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and barometer. The smartwatch comes in LTE and Bluetooth variant, the LTE version includes 1.15GB RAM and 4GB storage where the Bluetooth variant includes 768MB RAM and 4GB storage.

Galaxy Watch Price and Availablity

The Galaxy Watch will be available in the US on 24th of August with the Galaxy Note 9. The Bluetooth variant of the Galaxy Watch is priced at $329.99 (Rs. 22,750 approx.) while the 46mm version is priced at $349.99 (Rs. 24,125 roughly). The Galaxy Watch availability in the global market is not out yet, we will update you as soon as we will know about it.
