Samsung Z2 With 4G VoLTE and Free Reliance Jio SIM To Be Launched Today

Samsung earlier launched its first Tizen-based smartphone Samsung Z1 and then Z3, last year. Now, the company is going to launch another Tixen based device named as the Samsung Z2. Well known technology publication PhoneRadar.com has confirmed the news ahead of the Samsung event.

Tizen is an operating system based on the Linux kernel and the GNU C Library implementing the Linux API. Tizen based devices have a good market base in countries like India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh and other south asian countries.

The Samsung Z1 was launched in January and it was followed by the launch of Samsung Z3 in the month of October. These two phones are still available on Snapdeal at a price of Rs. 3,785 and Rs. 5,590 respectively.

Samsung Z2 Specs

Like Z1 and Z3, Samsung Z2 is also expected to be a entry level smartphone with a polycarbonate body and textured finished curved back panel. Samsung Z2 will most probably have a 4-inch WVGA Amoled display with a screen resolution of 480×800 pixels. It will have 32-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.5Ghz coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8 GB internal storage.


Talking about the camera, it will have a 5MP rear camera & a VGA front camera. This dual SIM smartphone will be backed by a 1,500 mAh battery and it will come with 4G VoLTE support. So as expected it will come with Jio preview offer (unlimited calls, data etc for 3 months) like other Samsung devices. The handset will be priced around Rs. 4590 and it is expected to launch today.

The company is also planning to launch a more advanced Tizen based smartphone. The phone has been recently spotted at Zauba, with the codename SM-Z930F, that means we can also expect the Samsung Z9 to be unveiled soon.
