Sony Alpha 7R II, Cyber-shot RX100 IV and RX10 II Cameras Launched In India

Sony has today launched the next RX100 series compact camera RX1000 IV, a super zoon camera RX10 II and its flagship mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera Alpha 7R II in India. Let’s take a closer look.

Sony a7R II

Sony a7R II is the new full flame mirrorless flagship digital camera for India, priced at 2,39,900 INR. This new camera includes world’s first back illuminated full frame Exmor R CMOS Sensor (42.2 effective Megapixel), which has high sensitivity (up to ISO102400) and high AF response (399 focal plane phase detection AF points).

Sony claims that the new sensor won’t make you choose between high speed, resolution and sensitivity, delivering on each aspect simultaneously.

RX100 IV and RX100 II

Some of the best compact camera’s belong to Sony’s RX100 series. The company has now launched 4th generation RX100 IV and a super Zoom camera RX10 II in India for 69,900 INR and 94,990 INR respectively.

Both of these models include 1.0 type stacked 20.2 MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor with attached DRAM memory chip. Sony claims this sensor allows both of these cameras to realize 5 times image readout rate, 40 times super slow motion video capture at 960fps (for reference, 2 second recording will play in max 80 seconds), an ultra fast super distortion shutter with a maximum speed of 1/32000 seconds and 4K recording. Of course you will need a high quality Class 10 SDXC card to match those numbers.

RX100_IV

The RX100IV includes a Zeis vario-sonnarT 24-70 mm F1.8-F2.8 lens while the RX10II includes Zeis Vario-SonnarT 24-200 mm F2.8 lens. RX100IV includes a tiltable LCD which allows composing more unusual angles with the camera. Both cameras are equipped with XGA OLED Tru-Finder and the RX10 II is also dust and moisture resistant.

The best feature of RX100 III, the pop up EVF has been included in the RX100 IV as well.
