Sony Xperia T3 Quick Review, Price and Comparison

While the tech world is busy with news pouring in from the Computex 2014 announcements, Sony has unleashed a mid-ranger with a large 5.3 inch display. Sony claims that the latest offering dubbed Xperia T3 measuring 7 mm in thickness is the world’s slimmest smartphone in the 5.3 inch display segment. The handset boasts the signature design pattern as the Sony Xperia Z lineup featuring a metallic trim on its edge, dedicated camera button and signature rounded power button. However, being a mid-ranger, the Xperia T3 lacks water and dust resistance certification. Read below to know the other aspects of the new Sony smartphone.

Camera and Internal Storage

The Xperia T3 is given a standard 8 MP primary camera with the Exmor RS for mobile that helps in capturing stunning snaps even in low light environments. There are other camera features such SteadyShot, Social Live, AR Effect, TimeShift Burst, Portrait Retouch and Creative Effects. Sony has also assured that it will enhance the camera features with more applications consistently.

Though an 8 MP primary camera appears to be average, in the expected price range, we can bank upon years of expertise Sony has with imaging hardware. Also, there is a front-facing 1.1 MP camera to assist in video calls.

On the storage front, the Sony Xperia T3 features 8 GB of internal storage capacity that can be expanded with the help of a micro SD card. Again, the 8 GB of storage is low to store all the default software and downloaded applications, but the inclusion of an expandable card slot is ad added advantage.

The Xperia T3 is stuffed with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC ticking at 1.4 GHz clock speed that is capable of delivering stunning graphics and ultra-fast performance. This processor is coupled with 1 GB of RAM that takes charge of multi-tasking capabilities. You can expect smooth performance for low to moderate day to day usage.

The battery capacity in this smartphone is 2,500 mAh and this is backed by the signature Battery STAMINA Mode that helps in extending the battery life. With such a powerful battery, the Xperia T3 becomes highly suitable for entertainment on-the-go via the Sony Entertainment Network.

The Sony Xperia T3 with its elegant design and looks and impressive spec sheet would have made more sense in the mid-range smartphone market.
