Spice Smart Pulse M-9010 SmartWatch with Java OS Launched at 3,999 INR

Spice Mobility as surprised us with the launch of its own desi Smartwatch, Spice Smart Pulse M-9010, running on Java OS priced at only 3,999 INR. The watch takes design cues from Galaxy Gear smartwatch and flaunts industrial design with 4 screws on top.

The Display is 1.6 inches in size with 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The watch will connect to your smartphone using Bluetooth connectivity and surprisingly also offers Dual SIM functionality. Talking to your watch in public already seemed absurd and adding dual SIM functionality doesn’t make much sense. The watch allows you to glance at your smartphone notifications on your wrist, make calls, listen to music, etc.

The battery capacity is 420 mAh and spice claims around 2 days of standby time and 3 hours of talk time. With SIM card inside, it is expected to struggle to last one day, which can be annoying as most people aren’t used to charging their watches.

The watch of course doesn’t match what Android Wear devices have to offer, but since most people expect a low price tag on smartwatches, it might carve a niche for itself. More significantly, It marks the beginning of Domestic branded Smartwatches and we are eager to see what Micromax Aster SoC based device, will bring to the table.

Spice Smart Plus M-9010 SmartWatch will be available for purchase from HomeShop18 starting from 11th July 2014. Spice has also bundled a bluetooth headset and 2 additional wristband inside the box.
