Spice mobiles has introduced Stellar 362, another entry level Android smartphone, today in India and plans on selling it to customers in Tier II and Tier III cities. Stellar 362 runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, fueled by basic entry level hardware.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Prashant Bindal, Chief Executive Officer, Spice Mobility Ltd, said, “We have noticed a growing acceptance and demand amongst sub urban customers for good quality smartphones. At Spice, our vision has always been to offer the best-in-class smartphones to a larger audience, by providing great products at affordable prices. Stellar 362’s combines high utility functions and the latest software to deliver a great customer experience.”
Talking about specifications, there is a 3.5 Inch display with HVGA resolution, powered by 1.2 GHz dual core processor. The chipset is supported by 256 MB RAM and 2 GB expandable internal storage. Memory will be a limiting factor for this smartphone.
Imaging hardware is also very basic with a 2 MP rear and 1 MP front facing shooter. Battery capacity is 1300 mAh, which is again entry level at best.
The handset comes with bare minimum hardware and the MRP of 5,499 sounds expensive for the same. Best buy price should be significantly lesser than this. Cleary the smartphone is meant for first time buyers and basic users switching from feature phones. Other options in the same price bracket include Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Zenfone 4, Micromax Canvas Fire 2, etc
