Videocon already has some experience with broadband services. Videocon is also the first internet service provider to roll out FTTX services (Fiber To The Endpoint ) in Punjab, where it operates under brand name ‘connect Broadband’. This is what Videocon plans on extending to different corners of India.

Arvind Bali, Director & CEO, Videocon Telecom said: “We are an integrated telecom player, and we are expanding our footprint. Internet is the next big thing in India, and the opportunity is immense. Our strategy was to enter this marketing at the right time, and all indications suggest that there could have not been a better time than this to enter the market.

There is a whole lot of opportunity and synergy that we are seeing with our existing GSM mobility and D2H business. And in order to capitalize on the same, we plan to priortise rollout of ISP services in our existing operational mobility circles including Haryana, Gujarat and MP, followed by Metros and other tier 1 cities.”

In 2015 itself, the company will invest 340 crores in 6 to 7 circles. It will be prioritizing circles where its cellular services are operational, which makes sense as Videocon can share infrastructure and utilize its established marketing and distribution network.
