Vivo Apex full bezel-less phone with in-display fingerprint scanner to launch on June 12

Vivo Apex, the full bezel-less phone from Vivo is scheduled to launch soon in China. The company has scheduled an event in Shanghai, China on June 12 to announce a new phone and it is expected to be the Vivo Apex that was introduced back in February in MWC 2018. The phone was under concept stage until now.

Vivo had introduced the world’s first true bezel-less smartphone name Vivo Apex at the MWC 2018 back in February. At that time, the company said that the phone is still in concept stage and will go into production in Q2 2018. Now, the company has announced that it will introduce at an event in Shanghai on June 12. The company has also showcased its new ad in China that highlights the features of the phone.

Vivo Apex features

The company had already revealed that it had used its FullView technology into the camera, speaker, and sensor elements. The phone has slim top and side bezels at 1.8mm and a 4.3mm bottom bezel which is the thinnest used in any phone as of now. The screen-to-body ratio is said to be around 98% if the bottom bezel reaches 1.8mm, ultimately creating a truly bezel-less screen.

Vivo APEX

Vivo Apex is also the world’s first phone with a Half-Screen Fingerprint Scanner Technology. To recall, Vivo has already used in-display fingerprint scanner as the industry’s first Smartphone X20 Plus UD. Moreover, the Vivo Apex comes with SoundCasting Technology that transforms the entire FullView Display into a speaker. It sends vibrations through the display without the need for a traditional speaker.

Vivo Apex Specifications

Based on previous reports, the smartphone is going to feature a 5.99 inches OLED display and it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. It might feature an 8MP Elevating front camera which seamlessly rises in 0.8 seconds when it is used and retracts after use. The phone deploys a new System in Package (SIP) tech to use the DAC and 3 operational amplifiers together, which reduces the need for the circuit board.

We should know the full specifications and features of the phone along with the price when it goes official next month.
