Vivo unveiled its prototype smartphone at MWC 2018 called Apex which features an in display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone comes with a full screen on the front with no bezels or notch on any sides of the display. Yesterday, a report came on the internet as a leak that Xiaomi is going to adopt this in display fingerprint sensor on its next flagship, Xiaomi Mi 7.
Xiaomi always keeps its flagship “Mi” series smartphones updated with the latest hardware and features. So, this news could be true and we might see future smartphones from Xiaomi which will feature the in-display fingerprint sensor. The Xiaomi Mi 7 got delayed because Xiaomi is working on adopting this new technology.
The evidence came from the MIUI Source Code branch where company’s CEO Lei Jun confirmed this feature in a comment. Check out the screenshot of the conversation with the CEO below. The conversation between the OP and the CEO of the company is a bit rusty but gathering all of those things together, we can easily say that CEO confirmed the in display fingerprint sensor on the Xiaomi Mi 7.
Other rumors and leaks about the upcoming smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 7 are already in the news. According to those leaks and rumors, the smartphone will feature a notch display on the front just like every other smartphone brand is doing right now. Xiaomi adopted one feature in Vivo but didn’t seem to get inspired by the design. The smartphone will feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Soc with at least 8GB of RAM.
