Xiaomi has been expecting to retail its accessories via its own official website in India. As expected, the firm has started selling them via its Mi website in the country. For now, the accessories are also available for sale via the firm’s online retailer partner Flipkart.
At present, Xiaomi’s Mi India website is selling accessories including Mi In-Ear Headphone costing Rs 799, Mi In-Ear Headphones Basic priced at Rs 500, Redmi Soft Gel Protective Case costing Rs 369 and Redmi Note Flip Case at Rs 559.
The Chinese manufacturer’s website has also listed the firm’s Mi Power Bank in both the 5200 mAh and 10400 mAh capacities as well on its official online store. Notably, these power banks are listed as out of stock on Flipkart.
This move of Xiaomi tips that the firm is looking to reduce its dependence on the online retailer Flipkart as it is looking to offer the Mi accessories only through its website. This speculation has come up as the online retailer has listed the Mi accessories as out of stock for quite sometime. May be, the same might be followed for the smartphones as well.
Notably, Manu Jain, the Xiaomi India Head said that they will sell their smartphones via their own store in the next three to six months. Even, the firm’s Global Vice President, Hugo Barra hinted at the move back in March 2014.
