Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Launching On May 25th, May Feature Snapdragon 660

Xiaomi has just officially confirmed that the Mi Max 2 will be released on 25th May 2017. The launch will take place in China. The successor of the Mi Max is expected to retain the same 6.44-inch display but may pack the new Snapdragon 660 SoC. With the Redmi 4 announced just a couple of days ago, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 might not come to India anytime soon.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Expected Specifications

The Mi Max series of Xiaomi is specifically known for its humongous screen size. The Mi Max 2 will not be an exception. The upcoming premium phablet is rumored to come with a 6.44-inch Full HD display. It will be interesting to see what Xiaomi does with the design language.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Official Release Date Announced

Moving inside, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected to boast the latest Snapdragon 660 SoC. This would be a generous upgrade over the Snapdragon 650/652 of the present Mi Max. Coming to the memory, the upcoming phablet may sport up to 4 GB of RAM combined with up to 128 GB of internal storage. Software-wise, the smartphone will run MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow or Android 7.0 Nougat.

While we don’t yet know about the camera specifications of the Mi Max 2, it should definitely come with some incremental upgrades over its predecessor. However, one of the major attraction of the phone will be its 5000 mAh battery. With the original Mi Max already boasting a 4850 mAh cell, Xiaomi may take it even further in its new handset.


Coming to connectivity, the upcoming phablet will feature all the standard options starting from 4G VoLTE till USB Type-C.
