Xiaomi Mi 6 Launching April 19 – Snapdragon 835, Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner

Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has been quite into limelight due to its leaked images and news. CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be launching in April. Since then it was rumored that Xiaomi is going to launch this flagship smartphone on April 11. However there is no truth in such news and Xiaomi had no such plans. Now Xiaomi has officially confirmed the date and Mi 6 will be launched on April 19.

The smartphone will be unveiled on 19th April in Beijing University Of Technology Gymnasium. Mi 6 is the one of the most awaited device of this year and Xiaomi fans are desperately waiting for it. However we already have witnessed few of it’s images which were leaked on Weibo. It is quite evident that Mi 6 will be having slimmer bezels with a higher screen to body ratio. It is also expected that there will be two variants of this smartphone.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Specifications

The Mi 6 will be sporting a 5.2 inch display with full-HD (1080p) resolution in the standard variant and quad-HD (1440p) resolution in the premium variant. Both will be running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update with the upcoming MIUI 9 skin on top.

The device may either sport a Snapdragon 821 chip-set or a Snapdragon 835 chip-set. Both will be having 4GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage on standard variant and 64GB on premium variant. There will also be a ceramic body variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM.

It will be housing a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor with OIS on the rear and a 8MP IMX268 with 5P lens and f/2.0 aperture camera on the front. It will be backed by a bigger 4,000mAh battery with fast charging. Other features like dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, NFC, Infrared and GPS are also going to be present.

Pricing and Availability

The basic variant will be reportedly priced at $320 or Rs. 22,550 approx. The cost of the high-end ceramic variant may go upto $380 or Rs 26,500. However, it’s still a lot of speculation, except the launch date. Given that the launch is scheduled in the next week, we should know more soon.
