Xiaomi launches MIJIA 4K action camera in China for CNY 699

Xiaomi has launched it’s MIJIA 4K action camera in China. The camera is priced at CNY 699, which roughly translates to Rs 6,800. It is not clear if the action camera will make it to the Indian market.

The highlight of the action camera is that it features 4K video recording and 6-axis stabilization for enhanced stability in video recording. The latest Xiaomi action camera supports RAW format as well.

As the name suggests, the action camera is very compact and can easily fit into any pocket with its minimal dimensions. Measuring just 71.5 x 42.7 x 29.5mm, the MIJIA 4K action camera weighs around 99 grams.

The MIJIA 4K action camera packs a 2.4 inch touchscreen display that allows easy preview access to photos and videos. Also, you can easily adjust most settings with just a simple touch. Coming to the hardware, the camera houses an Ambarella A12S75 chip with 3D motion noise reduction and lens distortion correction control.

Xiaomi 4K action camera

The new Xiaomi action camera uses a Sony IMX317 sensor with f/2.8 aperture, 145° wide angle lens and 3.2 mm focal length that can capture photos at 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K). It can record 4K videos at 30FPS, and 1080p videos at 60FPS.

The 4K Action Camera houses a battery that can last up to 2 hours when shooting 4K videos and 3 hours during a 1080p video shoot. It supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 in terms of connectivity and comes with an SD card slot which can support a maximum of 64GB SD card.

The 6-axis electronic image stabilization (EIS) includes 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer to make the captured videos steady in nature. Moreover, the camera offers a range of features while recording or capturing, including delay camera, slow motion, time-lapse shooting, and high-speed shooting etc.

Like most of Xiaomi products, the action camera has been launched in China only and comes with a price tag of CNY 699. To recall, Yi Technologies, the subsidiary of Xiaomi had launched its security and action cameras in India. So, it is expected that this latest action camera might also make its entry into the Indian market.
