Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Lake Blue Edition launched: Specs, price and more

Xiaomi has launched a new color variant for its Redmi Note 4 smartphone. The “Lake Blue’’ Edition of Redmi Note 4 aims to contribute to the government’s Clean India initiative or ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.

The newest color of the Redmi Note 4 will be available in the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant which is priced at Rs. 12,999. The Redmi Note 4 Lake Blue edition will go on sale on September 4 at 12:00 PM via Mi.com, Flipkart, Mi Home stores and Mi Preferred Partner stores.

The latest launch by Xiaomi is a part of the “Wake the Lake” campaign for reviving Kempambudhi lake in Bengaluru. Xiaomi has said that a part of the funds from the Redmi Note 4 Lake Blue variant sale will be given for initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director Xiaomi India confirmed about the new limited edition of Redmi Note 4 in his tweet.


Announcing the launch of the Lake Blue edition, he says,

“To show our concern for the cause we are taking up the maintenance of Kempambudhi Kere, to support BBMP in bringing it back to its initial days of glory as a project under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. To commemorate this cause, we are launching Redmi Note 4 Lake blue edition which would further contribute to this cause.”

To recall the specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 gets a 5.5 inch full HD ( 1920 X 1080 pixels ) display. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8 out-of-the-box, but the phone has started receiving Android Nougat 7.0 update.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz with 2GB to 4GB RAM. On the camera front, the Redmi Note 4 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel camera at the front.

The smartphone houses a 4,100mAh battery. The pricing of the phone starts from Rs. 9,999 and the 4GB/64GB variant costs Rs. 12,999. The Redmi Note 4 currently comes in fice color options – Grey, Gold, Silver, Matte Black and the newly launched Lake Blue edition.
