Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A To Launch On August 21, Pro Variant Expected

The latest addition to the Xiaomi Redmi Note family is confirmed to be made on August 21. The Redmi Note 5A will be launched in China by Xiaomi Chairman and CEO, Bin Lin. The company confirmed the launch on Chinese social networking site Weibo. Additionally, we may see two variants of the Redmi Note 5A.

Also, the smartphone is seen listed on Chinese certification website, TENAA, codenamed as MDT6 and MDT6S, confirming the presence of two variants. If rumours are to be believed, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is expected to come in two variants. One variant may have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and the other may not.

Since the phone is also listed on TENAA and confirmed to launch in a few days, here we tell you the expected specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A and the Note 5A Pro/Prime variant.

Starting with the display, both variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A are rumoured to come with a 5.5-inch HD display. The Redmi Note 5A may also feature a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing unit.

In terms of hardware, you may get a Snapdragon 425 processor, coupled with 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage on the Redmi Note 5A. In the Pro/Prime variant, you may get an octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor with 3GB/23GB RAM/ROM combination. Both phones may also support up to 128GB expandable memory.

Coming to the software, we could see Android 7.1.1 Nougat running with MIUI 9 on both the Redmi Note 5A and the 5A Pro/Prime variants.

You may get a 3,000 mAh battery along with 4G VoLTE capabilities on both Redmi Note 5A variants. The phones are expected to come with a Dual Sim hybrid slot, Infrared blaster, micro USB, Bluetooth, and WiFi. Also, the Prime variant may have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor whereas the regular Redmi Note 5A may not have it.

The Redmi Note series from Xiaomi houses affordable smartphones with good specifications. The much popular Redmi Note 4 was a widely appreciated addition. The Redmi Note 5A is also expected to be a worthy successor.

Although the pricing of these two new variants is not yet known, we can anticipate these to be placed under Rs. 15,000.
