Redmi Note 7

After several leaks and rumours, Xiaomi finally launched Redmi Note 7 in China today. The latest mid-range phone comes under the new ‘Redmi by Xiaomi’ brand. The key highlight of the smartphone is its 48MP primary rear camera with a 5MP secondary camera for portrait shots. Other highlights include Full HD+ waterdrop notch display, Snapdragon 660 with up to 6GB RAM, Android Pie with MIUI 10. The device has a glass back with gradient finish.

Redmi Note 7 Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 ×1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The display comes with 1.95mm narrow bezels and sports 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 chipset with up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 64GB storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB with microSD. The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.

The Redmi Note 7 sports a 48MP primary rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor with the four-in-one pixel tech to make a 12MP image. There is a 5MP secondary rear camera. Xiaomi says that it has used the Samsung sensor instead of Sony IMX586 sensor due to production issues. The company says that it will soon launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro with the Sony sensor. It has a 13MP front camera.

Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 /5GHz) Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. It also sports 3.5mm audio jack and AK 98937 Smart PA. The device packs a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 support.

Price, availability

The Redmi Note 7 price starts at 999 yuan (Rs. 10,390 approx.) for the 3GB/32GB version. The 4GB/64GB version is priced at 1199 yuan (Rs. 12,460 approx.). Lastly, the 6GB/64GB version costs 1399 yuan (Rs. 14,540 approx.). The smartphone will go on sale in China from January 15.
