Xiaomi’s foldable tablet spotted in a leaked video

Xiaomi is probably working on a foldable tablet. An alleged Xiaomi device has been spotted in a leaked video that can be folded and the tablet turns in to a phone-like form factor. It can be folded from both the left and the right side. This could be the world’s first dual-side foldable phone.

The leaked video of this foldable device from Xiaomi was posted by popular Eval Blass on his Twitter handle @evleaks. The tipster also writes that he can’t confirm the authenticity of the video and the device is allegedly made by Xiaomi. The video has been shot in low light so it doesn’t reveal any details about the device’s design.

Further, the device seems to be running Android with MIUI 10. We can see the swipe up Android gesture for going back to the home screen. The UI has also been optimized for changing screen sizes and it adapts to the screen size quickly while frequent folding.

This leaked video may or may not be authentic but the foldable phones are not a very strange concept. As this technology has already been introduced in the past year itself. Samsung has already showcased it’s foldable phone and that will also be a tablet.

Some rumors from China suggest that the foldable device could be teased at Xiaomi’s Redmi event on January 10. However, the official launch and availability might take some time. We will update you about this foldable phone more when any further detail comes from Xiaomi.
