Xolo has joined the online exclusive fray, today, with the launch of Xolo Black, a 7.3 mm slim smartphone with Gorilla Glass protection on front and back, along with highlighted dual camera setup. To avoid excessive smudges, which glass tends to accumulate, there is Oleophobic coating on top.
The actual display beneath the Gorilla glass is 5.5 Inches in size and supports full HD 1080P resolution amounting to 401 pixels per inches.
The chipset used is 64 bit octa core Snapdragon 615, which is the arch nemesis of MediaTek MT6752 and is notorious for running warmer. The handset includes 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage as well for durable performance.
You can expand the storage too, but only if you are willing to compromise on the MicroSD card slot. Yes, this is a hybrid dual SIM device and you will have to choose between an extra SIM and MicroSD card. USB OTG is also supported for directly connecting flash drives.
The rear camera setup includes one 13 MP camera and a 2 MP camera. One interesting feature, the dual camera is being used for is OptiZoom, which combines multiple images for better digital zoom. Xolo claims that the handset can focus in just 0.15 seconds, which is less than LG G2 and Xiaomi Mi4. On the front, a 5 MP selfie camera is present.
The new Hive UI based on Android Lollipop will also include a new browser, Comet, built in partnership with Opera and Adobe photo studio for image editing.
In spite of the slim design, Xolo has managed to pack a 3200 mAh battery inside. It will be available exclusively on Flipkart for 12,999 INR starting from 13th July. Existing Xolo customers can buy it from Xolo.in one day before on 12th July. You can check the demonstration of Xolo Black on Vodafone stores before buying it from Flipkart. Xolo is also offering free ride to Vodafone store with Uber, though exact terms and conditions aren’t clear yet.
