Xolo Might launch a Broadcom SoC based Budget Quad Core Phone Soon

Recently rumors of Xolo’s 4G LTE phone with Qualcomm snapdragon chipset surfaced online and if sources at Gizmodo are to be believed, after launching phones with MediaTek, Nvidia and Intel SoCs, Xolo will soon launch a phone with Broadcom BCM23550 processor in India.

This Broadcom Soc will employ a quad core processor based on power efficient Cortex A7 architecture incorporating ARM NEON technology which offers Wide SIMD data processing architecture to make your processor more efficient.

The phone can support up to 720P HD resolution and can also handle external HD panel via Wi-Fi Miracast-capable displays. The chipset will also be more power efficient with features like power optimization based on Workload.

Supported connectivity features include 2G, 3 G, GPS/GLONASS, WLAN , MEMS, and Cell ID for the best indoor/outdoor location. The chipset will also feature Dual SIM support. As far as Graphics go, you will get graphics based on VideoCore IV multimedia technology, with support for 3D gaming.


Other features include, 1080p Video playback support at 30fps, HD voice support along with dual mic noise cancelation and 21 Mbps of HSPA+ downstream connectivity.

This phone is expected to be priced below 10,000 INR and will be a competitor to MT6582 Chipset based budget quad core phones like Intex Aqua i6. We are expecting more of MT6582 phones to hit the market before the end of this year. This phone is expected to be released within a week. By the looks of it, by 2014 Quad core processor for under 10k won’t be a rare phenomena.
