YU Televentures has today launched its second smartphone, the much awaited Yuphoria, set to target untapped potential in a price range below its successful debut project, Yureka. Rumor mill performed well and Yuphoria is what it was expected to be – A well designed metal clad snapdragon 410 chip powered smartphone.
Rahul Sharma, Co-founder of YU Televentures and Micromax, elaborately explained various meticulous design and manufacturing processes Yuphoria’s metal frame had to go to to achieve its durability, strength, grip and shine. The handset measures 8.25 mm in thickness and has a screen to body ratio of 67 percent. Speaking of which, Yuphoria has a 5 Inch 720p HD display protected by Gorilla Glass 3 layer on top.
The handset is powered by 64 bit Snapdragon 410, but the chipset is paired with 2 GB DDR3 RAM for more efficient multitasking, durable long run performance and for fully taping 64 bit potential. The light and feature rich Cyanogen 12 OS will further assist towards the same cause. Software includes Truecaller integrated dialer, left handed mode, power saving mode, app themer, boxer powered mail app, Audio fx and more. There is 16 GB expandable native storage for storing apps and media.
On the rear surface you will find an 8 MP camera with LED flash, 1.4 Micrometer pixels, HDR and wide aperture f2.2 lens for primary photography. A 5 MP selfie shooter is also present on the front side, which includes a 4p lens, wide angle lens. You can shoot 1080p full HD videos from the rear camera. The 2420 mAh battery inside is removable, the battery supports quick charging. Yu claims 7 hours of talk time, 3.5 hours of video playback and 7 hours of talk time which sounds average.
Yuphoria includes Wolfson audio card and good quality drivers for loud audio experience. Other features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Dual Mic for noise cancelation, G sensor, L sensor, proximity sensor, e compass and 6 axis gyroscope. It will be available in champagne gold and buffed steel colors. The phone has been made in India and apart from the first couple of batches, it will be manufactured in India. Registration starts today at 5 PM and sales begin from 28th May, 2015.
