Earlier we had covered the launch of ZOPO ZP980 along with its quick review. Another variant of this much awaited ZOPO flagship smartphone ZOPO ZP980 with 1.5 GHz Quad core processor will be available for shipping in India from 10th July onwards. This new variant will have TURBO version of MediaTek processor, MT6589T (1.5GHz) instead of the usual MT6589 (1.2GHz) processor.
Everyone who books their order from 27 June Onwards, that is today as Zopo Mobiles have announced on their facebook page, will get the turbo version of the processor at the same price. ZOPO ZP980 is priced at 17,999 INR where as the 16 GB variant is available for 15,999 INR. Rs. 600 extra will be charged for 32 GB version and Rs. 500 for 16 GB version as shipping amount.
ZOPO ZP980 has a 5 inch multi touch capacitive display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels; this gives you a spectacular pixel density of ~440 PPI. Not many manufactures offer such high quality display at this price range. The color depth of the display is 16 M colors. The screen is also coated with corning glass which makes it further resistant to abuse.
ZOPO ZP980 is powered by a quad core MediaTek MT6589T processor with ARM Cortex A7 architecture, clocked at a frequency of 1.5 GHz. The GPU used in this chipset is Power VR SGX544 clocked at 387 MHz whereas the GPU of MT6589 is clocked at 286 MHz. The RAM capacity is 1 GB for 16 GB ROM and 2 GB for 32 GB ROM version, which won’t give you any lag even when you engage your device in extensive gaming. ROM capacity is further extendable up to 64GB using a micro SD card. Operating system used is latest Android 4.2 jelly bean.
This device has a 13 MP auto focus primary camera with LED flash will cater to all your amateur photography needs. This camera is capable of 1080 p full HD video recording at 30fps. Front camera is also powerful one at 5MP. ZOPO ZP980 comes with Dual SIM (Dual standby) and supports 3G connectivity. The phone has dimensions of 143.3 x70 x8.5 mm and its weight is adequate at 150g. battery capacity is 2000mAh with a standby time of 130 -200 hours. This will again be adequate to carry you through the day. Other connectivity features include micro USB port, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, Bluetooth 4.0, HSDPA(42.2 Mbps) VPN and GPS.
Hardware specs of this phone appear quite admirable. The turbo version is not much different than the normal version in terms of general performance.
