HTC yesterday launched 2 new smartphones HTC Desire 816 and HTC Desire 210, and with both, it’s really trying hard to make amends for the haphazard pricing model it has yet followed. The better calculated smartphones have separate set of audience and the HTC Desire 210 is not meant to attract those looking for a camera centric phone.
We got to spend some time with HTC Desire 210 at the launch event yesterday and play with its 5 MP basic shooter. There is no LED flash to assist the humble camera under low light conditions. As compared to other 5 MP camera units, the performance will lie on the lower side of the spectrum. As you can see in the images the details are fuzzy and there is a lot of camera noise even in full light shots. The low light shots appear too dark.
Having said that, camera centric phones is not the USP of this price segment. Budget Androids are meant to offer Android freedom and experience for first time and basic users and thus, a downgraded camera performance won’t be a deal breaker for most people. we will upload this post with the video sample of HTC Desire 210 rear camera soon.
