Intex Cloud X3 Quick Review, Price And Comparison

The Intex Cloud X3 is an entry-level Android-powered device that was launched a few weeks back. The device comes with a dual core processor, and features Android v4.2 as the highlights.

There’s a rather small 3.5 inch screen on the device, which reassures us of it being an entry-level device.

Let us go ahead and put the hardware under scrutiny to see what’s good and what’s not.

Camera And Internal Storage

The device comes with a 2MP main camera sitting at the rear of this new device, which might sound disappointing for some, but given the ultra-low price tag and the presence of a dual core processor, you can’t really complain. What’s more, even though the device lacks 3G support, it features a front camera in a VGA unit.

You can’t expect much out of the VGA unit, plus due to the non-availability of 3G, the usage of this unit will be restricted to a great extent, since one usually uses the front camera to make video calls.

The device comes with just 115MB of internal memory, so you’ll probably have to use the microSD slot for expansion. A 32GB microSD card is the maximum that the phone can work with, in this case.

Processor And Battery

The Intex Cloud X3 comes with a dual core 1GHz processor from Mediatek. Unlike the MT6577, the MT6572 used on this device features Cortex A7 cores, so you can expect a a bit less in terms of horsepower, but again, given the price point, the device looks like a steal.

You can expect the device to do a decent job when it comes to browsing and reading, but there might be some lags when trying to run graphic-intensive games and high res videos.

The phone packs a decent battery in a 1450mAh unit, which should find it easy to take you through one day, and probably more if you’re a conservative user.

Display And Features

As mentioned, the phone comes with a 3.5 inch display, featuring a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. This in turn churns out a pixel density of 165 PPI, which indeed is not bad for a device costing about 3,700 INR.

And, as expected, the phone comes with dual SIM functionality, where both SIMs can be used simultaneously. The only drawback here is that neither of those can be used on a 3G network.

Comparison

In this age of quad and octa core processors, quite a few manufacturers have shown interest in low cost dual core devices which is surprising to an extent.

Devices which might face direct competition from the Cloud X3 are Celkon A20, Lava 3G 402, Smart NaMo A209, etc.
