Amazon Prime Music launched in India, free for Amazon Prime subscribers

E-commerce platform Amazon lately expanded its Prime services in India and has now finally launched Amazon Prime Music in the country. With Android and iOS apps and a web interface as well, the service can be accessed from a wide range of devices just like Amazon Prime Video.

While the Amazon Prime Music service is not free for everyone, Amazon Prime members get it as a part of their membership package with no extra charges. So if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can access the Amazon Prime Music service for free.

The Prime Music service was introduced last year for Echo devices and has now become widely available or all Prime users to download. Amazon Prime Music is a music app from Amazon where you can stream, download, and store music for offline playback. Backed by Alexa, the app can take voice inputs to play the songs you want.

The user interface of the mobile apps is simple as the latest releases are arranged as tiles on the home screen. Then there are four tabs at the bottom comprising of Browse, Recents, My Music, and Alexa. You can download the Android app from the Play Store here and the iOS app for App Store here. Only those with Prime membership can use the app to stream and save music.

Coming to the web interface, the service maintains its Ad-free streaming and comes with a simple user interface. With songs in Hindi, English, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and Rajasthani, you have plenty of options to choose from. Amazon says that the service has millions of songs from Indian as well as International artists. There are also playlists spread across genre and moods and activities.
