Apple wrapped up its “Spring Loaded” event earlier on Tuesday, April 20, and announced some new iPads, iMacs, Airtag, and much more. Just like always, Apple announced these new products with some upgrades and at a higher price. Here, I am going to tell you some hidden features about Apple’s new launches that you may have missed. Apple Spring Loaded Event 2021
Let’s take a look at what Apple launched at the “Spring Loaded” event 2021 and things that it didn’t tell at the launch event.
1. iMac-24 inch with M1 Chip
The first thing Apple unveiled at the event is their next-generation iMac. The new iMac comes with a new design and it is powered by the Apple Silicon M1 chip, the same chip that powers the new Macbook models. It features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera. The new iMac also comes with a magic keyboard that now has Touch ID. It also has Thunderbolt USB Type-C ports and much more. 
After many years, Apple has brought a new design for its iMac. The new machine features a very thin-side profile with smaller bezels on each side, except for the bottom, and a new woven long color-matching cable that attaches magnetically.
As for the specs, the iMac is powered by Apple’s M1 SoC with an 8-core CPU and also comes with the 16-core Apple Neural Engine. It comes in several models with multiple memory variants and up to an 8-core GPU. The machine, overall, should offer a significant performance improvement over the previous generations.
However, just like always, Apple’s great specs come with a greater price, especially in India. The new iMac 24-inch with Apple M1 Chip (7-Core GPU, 8GB + 256GB) and Magic Keyboard starts at Rs. 1,19,900 in India and its other models go up to Rs. 1,59,900.
2. iPad Pro with M1 Chip & a new camera trick
Apple has also introduced the new iPad Pro in 11-inch and 12.9-inch models. The new iPad is also powered by the M1 chip and the company promises that these will offer a 50% improvement in CPU performance and 40% in GPU performance compared to the previous models with an A12X Bionic processor.
Talking about the specs, the new iPad Pro 11-inch model has a LED-backlit Liquid Retina display, while the 12.9-inch model features a mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display, and which makes it the first model with the feature. These are also the first iPads with 5G support.
The highlight of the new iPad Pro models is their camera that comes with a new trick. The 12MP Ultra Wide TrueDepth front camera has loaded with a Center Stage feature. The new feature is for video calls which offers a larger field of view and uses machine learning to recognize faces and keep them centered in the frame.
Even if they move, it automatically pans to keep them in the frame. Also, when others join the video call, the camera detects them and zooms out to fit everyone into the frame.
Comign to the pricing, the iPad Pro 11-inch 128GB version with WiFi starts at Rs. 71,900, and WiFi + Cellular version costs Rs. 85,900. While the 12.9-inch 128GB version with WiFi costs Rs. 99,900 and its WiFi + Cellular model is priced at Rs. 1,13,900.
The Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro comes separately at Rs. 27900 (Rs. 31900 for 12.9″). The new iPad Pro models will be available on apple.com and other authorized resellers in the second week of May.
3. iPhone 12, 12 Mini in new Purple Color
Apple also released a new purple color variant of the iPhone 12 and 12 mini that will join the already available blue, green, black, white, and (PRODUCT) RED color variants.
The new purple color iPhone 12 mini starting at Rs. 69, 900 and iPhone 12 at Rs. 79,900 will roll out in India and other regions starting from April 30, and with pre-orders starting from today, April 23.
4. Apple AirTags device trackers
After several rumors, Apple finally launched their device tracker dubbed as AirTag at the April 20 event. These tags come with a custom-designed U1 chip that uses Ultra-Wideband technology and Bluetooth alongside Apple’s network to keep track of devices.
With the U1 chip and Bluetooth support and via Apple’s Find My app, the AirTag can track and locate any object to which it is attached. For the latest iPhone users, the Find My app can also use the camera, ARKit, accelerometer, and gyroscope to guide users to locate the tag. The tag also comes with speakers so it can use sound, haptic, and visual feedback.
The Apple AirTags will be available from April 30, at a price of Rs.3,190 for a single piece and Rs. 10,900 for a pack of 4. Apple is also offering free engraving for AirTags.
5. Apple TV 4K with A12 Bionic Chip
Apple also introduced a new Apple TV 4K streaming device at the online event. It is the successor to the 2017 Apple TV model and comes with several improvements such as HDR with Dolby Vision and an A12 Bionic chip, the same chip as the iPhone XS series.
Because of the A12 Bionic, this model will offer an enhanced graphics performance and audio processing, as well as video decoding. It also comes with a new Siri-powered Remote control.
The remote offers intuitive navigation controls that have 5-way navigation for better accuracy. It also has a click pad control which is touch-enabled for the fast swipes.
The new Apple TV 4K starts at Rs. 18,900 for 32GB version. It will be available in the second week of May in more than 30 countries including India.
