Doogee V is the first phone with in-display fingerprint sensor, iPhone X-like notch

Doogee V has become the first smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, in time for the official unveiling of Synaptics’ in-display fingerprint solution at the CES 2018. China-based phone maker Doogee has shown off some features of the Doogee V in a video on its official YouTube channel.

Tipster Evan Blass also posted a render of the upcoming Doogee V smartphone. The company might officially announce the smartphone at the CES 2018 later this month.

For now, the design of Doogee V has been revealed. The company’s upcoming smartphone seems to have drawn inspiration from the Apple iPhone X. Doogee V can be seen featuring the same iPhone X like notch on the front. The front of the Doogee V features a 6.2-inch display, which might have a Full HD+ resolution.

In the video description, Doogee termed the display as a ‘Flexible Display’, however, it is not clear what this term actually refers to. At the back of the phone, a dual camera setup and at the bottom a USB Type-C port can also be seen.

Further, the Doogee smartphone is seemingly the first smartphone with an in-display fingerprint scanner as per the video. Earlier, we reported that Vivo was expected to launch the first under-display fingerprint scanner with its Vivo X20 at the CES 2018 event in collaboration with Synaptics. However, it seems like Doogee also adds its name to the list.

Besides these, there is not much info available about the Doogee V as of now. Doogee had earlier drawn heavily from smartphone designs of other brands as well. To recall, when Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix in 2016, Doogee was the first to copy that design and launched its own Mix series.
