Google Files Go updated with SD Card View, Tablet mode and more

Google launched some of the most useful lite apps last year in December for Android Go supported smartphones. The most talked about lite app among is the Files Go app which is a lite file manager for all the smartphones which comes with Android Go version OS. Recently, Google updated this Files Go app with lots of new features and UI improvements.

Google added a new SD-card only view because Google knows that most of the Files Go users use SD cards to save most of their files. Google added an ability to show the files only from SD card or the inbuilt storage. There is now a button “show SD card only”, it shows the files saved only on the SD card.

Google Files Go featured

Google added the tablet support for the Files GO app because most of the Android tablets don’t come with high-end hardware and plenty of RAM. Now, Android tablet users will also get the benefit from the Files Go app. This option also allows a user to transfer files from small screen to a bigger screen without using mobile data.

At the last, Google added a new “Open with” tab which enables the user to choose the app to open the specific file with. Now a user can open an image directly in the Photoshop app or doc file on Microsoft Word app. Also, the hidden files will be hidden on the file manager by default and can be changed in settings.

The Android Go version of Android smartphones will get this app prebuilt on their smartphones. And anyone who wants to try this app can also download from the Google Play Store.
