Honor Play 7 with 18:9 display, Android 8.1 Oreo announced in China

Huawei’s Honor brand has introduced a new phone dubbed as Honor Play 7 in China. This is the company’s latest budget smartphone and it comes with features like an HD+ 18:9 display, Android 8.1 Oreo, 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, both with LED flash.

The Honor Play 7 is a budget phone from Honor that is priced at 599 yuan (Rs. 6,380 approx.). The phone is available for pre-order and will go on sale from May 22 in China. There is no word on its launch in other markets. Meanwhile, in India, the company is all set to launch Honor 7C and Honor 7A smartphones on May 22.

Honor Play 7 Specifications

The Honor Play 7 sports a 5.45-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 FullView 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6739 processor with PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU. It packs 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.

Coming to the camera department, the device features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and PDAF. On the front, there is a 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash. It also sports 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. Powering the phone is a 3,020mAh built-in battery. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 skinned on top.

The dual SIM phone comes with a dedicated microSD slot. Other connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS. Dimension wise it measures 146.5 × 70.9 × 8.3 mm and weighs 142 grams. The Honor Play 7 comes in Blue, Black, and Golden colors.
