itel mobiles has launched two new smartphones – the itel S42 and itel A44 in India. The highlight of the smartphones is the full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Apart from these two phones, the company also announced the itel A44 Pro which is just an upgraded version of the A44 in terms of memory and front camera. The itel A44 is priced at Rs. 5,799 and the S42 costs Rs. 8,499.
The itel S42 is the selfie-focused phone and it sports a 13MP front camera with dual-LED flash. Moreover, it is powered by the Snapdragon 425 SoC with 3GB RAM. The itel A44 is powered by the MediaTek 6737M processor with 1GB RAM and the A44 Pro comes with 2GB RAM.
Itel S42 Specifications
Starting with itel S42, the phone comes with a 5.65-inch HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) 2.5D glass display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The dual SIM phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset with Adreno 308 GPU and packs 3GB RAM with 16GB storage which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD card.
In the camera department, the phone comes with a 13MP rear cameras with LED Flash. Up front, there is a 13MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 120-degree wide angle lens. The front camera also includes bokeh beauty mode, PDAF, and dual LED flash.
Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. Dimension wise the phone measures 153 × 73.55 × 8.25mm and it also features a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Itel A44/A44 Pro Specifications
The itel A44 and A44 Pro are the same phones with just memory and front camera changes. The devices sport a 5.45-inch ( 480 × 960 pixels) FWVGA+ IPS Full Lamination Display. They are powered by a Quad-Core MediaTek MT6737M processor with Mali-T860 MP1 GPU.
The itel A44 packs 1GB RAM with 8GB storage while A44 Pro packs 2GB RAM with 16GB storage. The storage on both the phones is expandable up to 32GB with microSD. The Dual SIM (Nano) phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.
Camera department on A44 smartphones is handled by a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash. While there is a 5MP front camera on the A44, the A44 Pro comes with an 8MP front-facing camera. Both the phones feature front LED flash as well.
Dimension wise, the phones measure 148×70.5×8.2mm. The phones also come with features like Bike Mode and Smart Key. Connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB OTG. The A44 packs a 2400mAh battery.
Price and availability
The itel A44 is priced at Rs. 5,799 and comes in Champagne Black, Rose gold, Red colors. The itel S42 comes in Black and Champagne colors and costs Rs. 8,499. Both the smartphones will be available via offline stores across the country starting from today. The A44 Pro will be available in April and its pricing has not been announced yet.
