JioFiber will offer 100Mbps broadband, unlimited calls, and JioTV at less than Rs. 1,000

Reliance Jio will bring its JioFiber broadband services to the public at a monthly charge of less than Rs. 1,000 as per a report. The JioFiber services are expected to be available in India by the end of this year with 100Mbps broadband, along with unlimited voice and video calls over a VoIP phone, and access to the Jio TV app.

Reliance Jio has been testing its Jio Fiber fixed-line broadband services since 2016. The company was also offering free data through preview plans to its select users in select cities. But now, it has been reported by LiveMint that the telecom operator is all set to bring its broadband services to the public by end of this year.

JioFiber services will be based on the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) model. These services will be available with unlimited calling through a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone and JioTV, the report adds citing a person familiar with the development. It is also reported that the broadband services could be available under Rs. 1,000 a month.

JioFiber

Reliance Jio is presently testing the JioFiber service in select cities including Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, and New Delhi among others. In these cities, JioFiber subscribers are provided with free broadband with unlimited Internet access at 100Mbps speed after a security deposit of Rs. 4,500.

Before Reliance Jio launches its JioFiber service, rival Bharti Airtel is further pushing its home broadband offerings in new cities. Airtel has also introduced a new home broadband plan with speeds of up to 300 Mbps at a monthly rental of Rs. 2,990. The plan offers 1,200GB of data and free subscription to Airtel apps like Wynk Music and Airtel TV.
