Lenovo 100e, 300e, and 500e Chromebooks launched at #MWC2018

While we thought the era of Chromebooks was coming to an end, Lenovo has introduced three of them at the #MWC2018. The Lenovo 100e, 300e, and 500e are three new Chromebooks from the company.

The Lenovo Chromebooks are affordable and start from as low as $219 that translates to a base price of Rs. 14,200. At this price, the Chromebooks are sturdy and come with a rugged design.

Lenovo 100e Chomebook

While these are not full fledged laptops, Chromebooks are notebooks that run Chrome OS. You cannot do heavy multitasking on these laptops but they’re good for day to day usage and basic computing. The Chrome OS takes everything online on Google’s tools like Docs, Sheets, and more.

The Lenovo 100e is the most affordable Chromebook in the lineup. It comes with a rugged design and can survive a drop of as much as 2.5 feet. The device features a 11.6-inch anti-glare display with HD (1366 x 768p) resolution. Backed by an Intel Celeron processor, the Lenovo 100e Chromebook comes with 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a microSD card reader, HDMI, USB 3.0, a mic/audio jack and a Type-C port to charge the laptop.

Coming to the slightly higher spec’d Lenovo 300e Chromebook, this one also comes with a rugged chassis and an 11.6-inch display with touch screen capabilities. This Chromebook is a 2-in-1 that can flip to become a tablet. On this device, you get a MediaTek MTK 8173C processor backed by 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. On the Lenovo 300e, you get an SD card reader, HDMI, USB 3.0, a mic/audio jack and a Type-C port.

Talking about the highest spec’d Chromebook in the lineup, we get to the Lenovo 500e now. This one is also a 2-in-1 device with 11.6-inch HD (1366 x 768) IPS display with touchscreen capabilities. It is backed by an Intel Celeron N3450U Processor and comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. However, this one is superior in terms of connectivity as you get 2 USB Type-C ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a MicroSD card reader, and an Audio jack.

Pricing and Availability

The Lenovo 100e Chromebook is available at a base price of $299 (Roughly Rs. 14,200) while the Lenovo 300e is priced at $269 (Roughly Rs. 17,400) and the Lenovo 500e is pegged at $309 which translates to Rs. 20,000.
