Nokia 8 (2018) Sirocco expected to launch with Snapdragon 845 at MWC 2018

HMD Global has confirmed that it will be be hosting an event at the Mobile World 2018 on February 26th. HMD Global is set to uncover some smartphones at the event. The company has trademarked the Nokia 8 Sirocco moniker, and according to some fresh reports, the Nokia 8 Sirocco will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.

Some previous reports had revealed that the company is working on a 2018 version of Nokia 8. This new edition of Nokia 8 is based on the Nokia 8800 Sirocco which was launched back in 2006. The model number of this edition of Nokia 8 is TA-1005. Some leaks are hinting that the smartphone will powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which is paired with 6 GB RAM.

Nokia 8 Sirocco

The Nokia 8 Sirocco is expected to come with dual camera setup consisting of a 12MP + 13MP sensors with ZEISS optics. The selfie camera might be a 5MP sensor, and the smartphone will come with IP67 certification for dust and water resistance.

There is no confirmation about the screen size, but it is expected to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display. It might sport an OLED panel instead of the LCD panel from last years Nokia 8. The device is expected to be priced at 5,000 Yuan which converts approximately to $793 or Rs. 50,900. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is expected to be powered by a 3,250mAh battery with wireless charging equipped.

Apart from the Nokia 8 Sirocco, the HMD Global led Nokia is expected to also launch the Nokia 9, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 4, Nokia 1 and Nokia 3310 4G Global edition.
