Panasonic P101 with 18:9 Display launched in India: Specs, price, more

Panasonic has launched a new smartphone in India in its P-series, dubbed as Panasonic P 101. Featuring an 18:9 display, Panasonic P101, is a budget device and also the company’s second handset that comes with the 18:9 ‘Big View’ display. The smartphone comes at starting price of Rs 6,999.

This new smartphone by Panasonic has been announced to target the budget-segment in India with some trending features. Apart from 18:9 display, its key features include dual-SIM 4G VoLTE support, Android 7.1 Nougat, 8MP and 5MP primary and secondary cameras with LED flash on both sides. The new Panasonic P101 is available for purchase from today via offline retailer Sangeetha Mobiles.

Panasonic P 101 Price in India, launch offers

As mentioned above, the Panasonic P101 has been priced at Rs. 6,999, but, this smartphone comes with some bundled launch offers from Idea Cellular. The P101 comes with Idea’s 60GB free data offer for existing and new subscribers. On a recharge of Rs 199, Idea users will get additional 10GB data with 28-day validity and this offer can be availed for six months. Moreover, Idea is also offering a cashback of Rs. 2,000 with the new smartphone, but users will receive it after three years.

Panasonic P 101 Specifications

The Panasonic P101 sports a 5.45-inch Big View (18:9) IPS display with a 2.5D curved screen. The dual-SIM phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat. In terms of camera, the Panasonic P101 sports an 8-megapixel autofocus camera at rear with an LED flash. Up front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash.


It is powered by the quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.3GHz and is coupled with 2GB RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB.

Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, AGPS, and FM radio. Sensors on the P101 are an accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass, and ambient light sensor. The device packs a 2,500mAh battery.

Commenting on the launch, Pankaj Rana, Business Head-Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said,
