Samsung had earlier introduced its much awaited device, Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 (Quick Review) in India for unspecified price, and now the phone is available for purchase for a price-tag of Rs. 22,999. The faux leather back smart phone is a worthy successor of hugely successful Samsung Galaxy Grand and eliminates its various short comings.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 comes with a 5.25 inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels spread across it. The 280 pixels per inches display will be much sharper than its predecessor. On the software front this phone comes with Android 4.3 jelly bean operating system.
The processor employed is a 1.2 GHz quad core processor from Qualcomm paired with 1.5 GB RAM for smooth UI transitions and multitasking. The Internal storage also remains same at 8 GB and can be extended to 64 GB using MicroSD support.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 comes with an autofocus 8 MP camera at the back supported by LED flash, capable of full HD 1080p video recording at 30fps. The secondary camera of 1.9 MP, capable of HD video recording, is also present for video calling.

Battery capacity has been enhanced to 2600 mAh and will reportedly give you 17 hours of talk time and 450 hours of standby time on 2G. In this segment Grand 2 will give stiff competition to domestic branded devices, but will still fall short of competitors like Nokia Lumia 1320.
Samsung has also launched Club Samsung Entertainment store, which will be free for first three months. The phone is 8.9 mm thick and weighs moderate 163 grams. The Dual SIM functionality with Smart Dual SIM is supported along with connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v 4.0 and GPS with GLONASS.
Samsung Galaxy grand justifies its price tag considering the spec sheet. Samsung will also launch another intermediate phone in the Galaxy Grand series, named Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo.
