Xiaomi is on a mission to disrupt the Smartphone market with its low-priced phones that come with high-end specs as compared to its competitors’ offerings in the same price range. Capitalizing on the success of the Mi 4 and Mi 4i, Xiaomi is all set to announce the Mi 4c this September 22 which will be released in China. Details are still awaited on its global release but it should follow soon after.
Described as a beefed up version of the Mi 4i that was released in India, the Mi 4c is expected to look and feel the same but with more firepower under the hood – it will feature the Snapdragon 808 processor, which is a step up from the mid-range Snapdragon 615 processor. The looks of Mi4c will be exactly like Mi4i (as per leaks) but the internals will be much more impressive this time.
It will also have the new Type-C USB port which will bring with it Quick Charge 2.0 that lets you charge upto 60% of your battery in roughly 30 minutes along with faster data transfer speeds. Also new to the new Mi 4c would be the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop running under Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 7 layer.
The Mi 4c is expected to come with a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage and a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant, with the latter option being the preferred choice for most consumers. It is speculated that the device may also come with a 64 GB variant although we cannot say what RAM would come with that device.
Other specs are expected to be similar to the Mi 4i; a 5 inch 1080p display, 13 Megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 5 Megapixel front camera, LTE support and a 3120 mAh battery and similar dimensions.

The Mi 4c is expected to retail at $235 for the 16 GB variant (approx INR 15,500 without taxes) and $250 for the 32 GB variant (approx INR 16,500 without taxes) although official pricing details are awaited.
