Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus Launched With Dual Cameras, 6 GB RAM

Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus was also launched alongside the Mi 5S today in China. Featuring a bigger display, battery and extra RAM, the Mi 5S Plus is the bigger version of the flagship Mi 5S. Just like the new iPhone 7 Plus, the Mi 5S Plus also comes with a dual camera setup, featuring two 13 MP cameras on the back.

The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus comes with a 5.7 inch full HD IPS LCD display, giving you a pixel density of ~386 PPI. The display glass comes with a 2.5D curve to offer an immersive viewing experience.

Powering the Mi 5S Plus is the latest SoC from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 821 processor with 2 2.3 GHz Kryo cores and 2 1.6 GHz Kryo cores. The CPU is assisted by an Adreno 530 GPU. On the memory front, Xiaomi has launched two variants of the Mi 5S Plus – one with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB UFS 2.0 storage, and another with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.0 storage.


Coming to the most interesting aspect of the phone, the Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus comes with two 13 MP Sony cameras on the back. It also comes with a Dual Image Processor that helps you capture the best image possible using the two 13 MP cameras. Out of the two 13 MP sensors, one captures images in black and white, while the other sensor captures images in the regular colour version. The main camera supports 4K video recording and also comes with support for ultra slow-mo 720p recording at 30 FPS.

On the front, you get a 4 MP camera with 2um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture and an 80 degree wide angle lens. The front camera can record up to full HD videos.

Other features include Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, Dual SIM support, 4G LTE with VoLTE out of the box and NFC. The phone comes with a Fingerprint sensor on the back and a USB Type C connector on the bottom. It is powered by a 3800 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Pricing And Availability

The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus has been priced at CNY 2,299 ($344/INR 23,000 approx) for the 4 GB RAM – 64 GB storage version and at CNY 2,599 ($390/INR 26,000 approx) for the 6 GB RAM – 128 GB storage version. It will be on sale in China starting September 29.
