HTC Desire 820 Wins “Best of Show” Award for IFA 2014

HTC Desire 820, the first 64 bit Android mid ranger which HTC showcased at IFA 2014 has won “Best of Show” award from Android Authority and also features in “Best of IFA 2014” list by Android Central. The handset overcomes all the design shortcomings of its 32 bit counterpart, the Desire 816 besides introducing HTC Dual shot styling which adds secondary colors accents to the chassis.

The handset is powered by The 64 bit Snapdragon 615 SoC with 2 clusters of 4 cortex A53 cores (total 8) clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1 GHz respectively. To utilize the full advantage of 64 bit SoC, HTC will upgrade it to Android L as well.

Other hardware is very similar to HTC Desire 816. You get a 5.5 Inch 720p HD display, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB expandable storage. There is the same 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, BSI sensor, 28mm lens capable of 1080p video recording. The 8 MP front shooter can also record full HD videos.

All hardware is powered by 2600 mAh battery, again similar to Desire 816. The 64 bit chipset will however is more power efficient. The HTC signature dual BoomSound speakers also flank the 5.5 inch display. The handset is expected to retail in global markets starting this month and we are looking forward to its arrival in India.
