Build Quality, Design and Form Factor

Lenovo Vibe X2 has a very new refreshing design as compared to some recently launched smartphones from other brands. In terms of the built quality it comes very close to be one of the best material being as it used a combination of metal alloy with slight amount of polycarbonate plastic. The form factor of the phone is good as you can easily hold it in one hand and it slim and portable in terms of weight so that you can easily carry it around. Weigh around 120 grams which is fairly light and thickness is also less at 7.3 mm.  It looks very good with a layered design and can turn heads with its good design and attractive looks.

Camera Performance

The rear camera takes decent photos in day light and low light performance is also good if not great. Auto focus takes slight amount of time and for macro shots you need to be slightly away from the subject. The front camera is good for video chat at HD quality but handles light with a slow response, but we believe that all can be fixed with a software update.

Lenovo Vibe X2 Camera Video Sample

Display, Memory  and Battery Backup

It has IPS LCD display which is pretty smooth on touch screen response and color reproduction and viewing angles are also good. It has 32 Gb of internal storage with custom UI which runs on top of android and user available is around 25 Gb and there is no microSD card slot. The battery backup I got was around 1 day with moderate usage but with heavy games play, more usage of camera app and video watching can make the battery lose its charge faster overtime.

Software, Benchmarks and Gaming

The software UI which runs as custom layer is smooth and lag free most of the times unless you are playing heavy games on the phone or watching HD video. You can play HD videos as well without any issues but you cannot record slow motion videos and you also cannot play 4K resolution videos on this phone.

Benchmark Scores

  • Antutu Benchmark: 40814
  • Nenamark2:  58.8 fps
  • Multi Touch:  10 point

Sound, Video and Navigation

Sound from loudspeaker is loud but its placement on the flat back side can make it sound muffled if the device is lying on its flat back on a table. The video playback worked fine for HD videos and navigation also worked fine when I tested the same with google maps as I could get the GPS coordinates locked. Inside building and other indoor premises it may take longer times or may not able to lock GPS at times but it worked well in outdoors.

What We Liked

  • New fresh design
  • Light Weight

What We Did Not Liked

  • Slightly Slow Camera
  • Not so great battery backup

Conclusion and Price

Lenovo Vibe X2 is a available through flipkart for Rs. 19999 which makes it real good value for money with as per the kind of hardware you are getting in it. Some good things are new refresh design and amazing looks. It feels really light as well but battery backup is low but that can be fixed with ultra power saving on this device which comes preinstalled as a feature.
