After OPPO launched its much hyped phone OPPO N1 (Hands On Review) with the major highlight being the rotating camera couple of days back and now domestic manufacture Smart NaMo has presented its low cost version of a rotating camera device, NaMo Saffron Wave priced at Rs. 12,999.
The Handset is powered by 1.3 GHz MT6582 Quad core chipset backed by Mali 400 GPU and 1 GB RAM. Smart NaMo is expected to reveal 16 GB/ 32 GB internal storage variants in India. The processor is fast replacing MT6589 chipset in budget quad core devices and we will be seeing a lot more of it in 2014.
The rotating camera has an 8 MP sensor which is maximum MT6582 can support. The camera also enjoys Dual LED flash for low light photography. The rotating camera of OPPO N1 was tested for 100,000 swivels but the same is not likely for this budget Android.
The 5 inch display sports HD 720 P resolution. Many other hardware specifications have not yet been revealed for Saffron Wave as of now. If a rotating camera is on top of your priority list, Gionee Elife E7 mini with 13 MP rotating shooter is also an option which is expected to arrive soon. For now their is no certain information regarding availability of any of these three phones.
The Smart NaMo team was able to inspire a lot of enthusiasm (the credit goes to NaMo or Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi) owing to competitive pricing and attractive marketing, but has not yet succeeded in establishing strong hold in India. This phone too like Saffron One is expected to be available on Snapdeal.
