Gionee Dream D1 Hands on Video Review and Photo Gallery

Gionee has launched another smartphone in india market the new smartphone named as Dream D1 but the only thing bothers me is the price of this gadget and I really don’t think that users with 18k INR in their pocket will ever go for the brand which does not have any reputation in Indian market. Well, they have played their dice now and taking the specs into consideration, it bounces above the all the 10k INR range smartphones but not with a great margin.

Gionee Dream D1 Specifications and Key Features

This phone is equipped with quad-core processor which can be seen in all the phone at the range of 30k like, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z and ZL and others. Particularly it is 1.2GHz Cortex A-7 quad-core processor. Screen is 4.65 inches (not the traditional 5 inches), the display is also good but not even better than iPhone 5 and now a days the released phones with quad-core specs are fighting at 443 ppi and this phone stays at 316 ppi. The RAM is also better as compared to Micromax Canvas 2 or other phones at the range of 10k which is 1GB. I don’t see spending 6k extra for few extra features because again the skin used by this new Gionee will not even guarantee a fluid flow on your smartphone.

The Phone is powerful but not that powerful which will help you to play good graphics game on it as the GPU used by this phone is PowerVr Series 5XT which believe does make much of the different and you will see the this kind of GPU in other phones at 10k ranged released by Karbonn, ZTE and others. The camera is 8MP and as promised by the other phones also, it will have HDR mode for image and HD video capturing, the front camera is of 1MP which is a VGA camera.

Another decent part is the latest OS and the battery backup on which a user generally cribs. The battery of 2100 mAh is decent but not very good and like other Chinese phones it has also got the Dual SIM support with other mandatory sensors.

Conclusion

The price marking is still not justifiable to me, I wish it could have been much lower at the price level of Micromax HD then the competition would have been good, but still it the skin offered by this new Chinese company comes out to be good then it may change the scenario. Information about their after sale services and the accessories quality is not much in the market as of now, so I won’t suggest the readers to go for this one, rather then they can try GPad by this same company.
