Nokia Lumia 620 – Another Budget Windows Phone Which Offer Great Value For Money

Nokia Lumia 620 has become old now, after the release of Nokia 520 but still it is a great phone which comes at a nice affordable price point and offers a great value for the money you invest in it. Nokia Lumia 620 comes for a price of around Rs. 14,999 it comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front VGA camera and it has a 3.8-inch ClearBack LCD with a resolution of 480×800 pixels, and pixel density of 246ppi and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset with a 1 GHz dual-core CPU and Adreno 305 GPU.

Design, Build Quality and Form Factor

The build quality is some thing which makes this phone unique in its own price segment as you get a very nice build on nokia lumia 620 at this price point as compared to the other phones, the back cover will be matt finish and rubberized in black color variant but in other colors it can be glossy as well. The design is very much inspired from from Nokia Lumia 820 but rounded edges gives a nice grip into your hand. It only 127grams which is makes is fairly light to hold and the matt finish back or even if it is glossy it does not get finger prints very easily.

Display, Memory and Battery Life

It has got a 3.8-inch ClearBack LCD  display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels, and pixel density of 246ppi which has wide viewing angles but not very wide, you can easily notice the color fading at 160 degrees or more and the contrast level on the display are also pretty good as it’s a clear black display. You get 8Gb of internal storage out of which around 7.23 Gb is available and around 3 Gb is used by OS so you get around 5 Gb of storage on the device, you have 512 Mb of RAM which is quite good to make the phone responsive all the time we did not faced any lag in UI or none of the apps crashed while using it most of the time. You get around 1 day of battery backup on the device.

Software and HD Video Playback

It runs in windows phone 8 version of os which provides you a seamless experience of windows as you can sync data across a windows pc running windows 8 and this phone and you get some really good apps like Nokia maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia city lens which really helps and these apps really add a great value to windows phone, the os interface is nicely optimized so that it runs smoothly without any glitches in the interface but you may notice some apps slow at time when they are dealing with internet data like windows store. Nokia lumia 620 has a low resolution but still its capable of playing HD videos at 720p and also at 1080p without any lag or issues and you can play .mp4 videos file using the default video player no need to install third party video player.


The rear camera is 5 MP which is capable of recording video in HD at 720p and it performs really well in day light and in low light it does pretty good job provided to hold the device stable while taking photos and you also can take good photos in low or no light with flash support, below are some of the camera samples.

Sound, Call Quality and Connectivity

The sound from the loudspeaker while playing video and other media is quite loud and clear and call quality from the earpiece and the headphones is clear and loud as well, it supports wifi and 3g both and we did faced any connectivity on the device while using it.

Nokia Lumia 620 is a nice value for money phone which comes at a affordable price point, the only competitor we see is Nokia Lumia 520 which almost has the same hardware config but does not have flash on the rear camera and also there is not front camera on the device.
