Apple has unveiled 5C minutes ago and yes! The cheaper plastic iPhone is now Officially a reality! How did the rumour mill do? Well they nailed it as far as design go, and to some extent the pricing to but the specifications were mostly rumored and missed the target someplaces here and there. Let’s take a look at the much awaited iPhone 5C!
As far as Body Design goes it is made of a single piece of polycarbonate, into which they install a reinforced steel frame(at the inside). Apple describes it as “simpler, more essential, more capable and more colorful” the body is mercury and arsenic free. Body will present a unique feel and continuous seamless surface. The New iOS 7 will be available from September 18 onwards and can be optimized with the body color of your new iPhone 5C
The New iPhone 5c has similar 4 Inch screen as seen in iPhone 5. The display is retina display and you won’t see any resolved pixels similar to iPhone 5. Other Display features include integrated touch, full sRGB, and widescreen video playing.
This processor is A6 similar to iphone 5, this custom made processor comes with 1.3 GHz dual core processor based on apple designed architecture and an integrated triple-core PowerVR SGX 543MP3 GPU. The RAM backing up this processor is 1 GB LPDDR2 RAM. Don’t judge this by its android counterparts, as it is much smoother in performance.
The camera of this device has a 8MP BSI sensor and this iSight camera comes with Hybrid IR filter and 5 Element lens. The pixel size is 1.9 micrometer which is similar to Ultrapixel camera pixel in HTC ONE. This pixel is larger in size and will give more efficient camera performance. Front Camera is improved FaceTime HD camera with FaceTime Audio and improved backside illumination. This phone will come with LTE and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity
This phone will come in Blue, white, pink, yellow and green and will cost $99 for 16 GB version and $199 on 32 GB version on 2 Year contract. In India we expect this phone to be available for around Rs. 32,000 INR and it will be available by next month.
As expected, Apple has provided with a Hardware which can continue to run for another 2 years in the market and considering that iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 are now quite old, this phone will present itself as a more alluring option. This phone will perform twice as fast as iPhone 4s and also the Hardware specifications are similar to iPhone 5. This will be an iPhone 5 in plastic casing. This is probably the reason Apple has discontinued iPhone 5 altogether.
