HCL ME V3 Connect with Dual core and 1 GB RAM at Rs. 9,376

Another Tablet from HCL, HCL ME V3 Connect is now available in India and is available for purchase from online retail site Snapdeal for Rs. 9,376. There is a huge market for tablets priced less than 10,000 INR which offer decent specs in India as is evident from the overcrowded budget tablet market and that’s exactly what HCL is targeting with its HCL ME series including tablets like HCL ME U3 and HCL ME Champ.

This tablet comes with a 7 inch Display with WVGA resolution. This is strictly below average when most manufacturers are offering you 1024 x 600 pixel resolution in even less expensive tablets and on the other hand tablets like Nexus 7 (which is now selling in the same price bracket) will offer you 1280 x 800 pixel fine clarity display.

This tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual core processor which is based on Cortex A9 architecture which will work better than the conventional Cortex A7 processors but will still lag behind quad core processors being offered by tablets like Simmtronics Xpad Mini and Nexus 7. Although the processor coupled with 1 GB RAM will perform well with most general purpose applications without being too harsh on the battery.

The Internal storage is 4 GB which can be extended to 32 GB using a microSD card. The tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly bean operating system and sports a 3 MP camera on the back panel and a VGA camera at the front for video calling.

The battery capacity is standard 3000 mAh, nothing special here. The Tablet also has a Mini SIM card slot which means you can use it to make calls. Unfortunately, you can’t use this SIM card for 3G connectivity. You will have to use 2G while on the move. You can use 3G via external dongle.

Over all HCL ME connect V3 brings nothing new to the table. Tablets like Nexus 7 pose better specifications and the only advantage HCL ME V3 Connect has over it is the SIM card which can be used for Calling and 2G connectivity. It could have been a preference for those who like to use Internet while on the move, but without 3G this feature too loses its Shine. This tablet will also face competition from tablet likes Simmtronics Xpad Mini and Domo Slate X3G 4TH quad core tablets. You can buy this tab from Snapdeal at Rs. 9376
