Finally the Micromax Canvas Turbo has officially arrived!! The phone features most of the rumored specs and is the first phone from Domestic manufacturer to provide 2 GB of RAM for a price less than 20,000 INR. The phone will also come with Preloaded BBM app along with various new software additions.
As revealed in the leaked specifications this phone comes with 5 inch Full HD 1080p IPS LCD display similar to phones like Intex Aqua i7 and Gionee Elife E6, with support for 16.7 million colors. The display will give you 441 pixels per inches and finally the Canvas series has taken the leap to FHD display after a series of HD devices.
The phone is powered by MT6589T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and assisted by PowerVR SGX 544 MP GPU clocked at 357 MHz. The RAM capacity is 2 GB which is again a refreshing change in Canvas Series Line up. The internal storage is 16 GB and it is not expandable.
On The hardware side the Camera specs are similar to Micromax Canvas 4 and all other rival MT6589T chipset phones as this is the maximum that MT6589T SoC can support. The primary camera is of 13 MP and the secondary camera is of 5 MP. The camera UI has been improved a lot and it comes with features like Cinemagraph, 360 degree panorama and Object eraser. check out the videos at the end to see these features in Action.
The battery capacity has not been increased and remains same at 2000 mAh. This is a little disappointing. None of the MT6589T devices including Intex Aqua i7 and Gionee Elife E6 offers anything extraordinary in this department either. Micromax Claims this battery will give you 7 hours of talk time which is average.
The phone supports Dual SIM (one microSIM and one regular sized SIM) and BBM messenger and Hike Messenger comes preloaded on this smartphone. The phone also features all the gesture features we saw in Canvas 4 like Blow Air to unlock, easy answer and smart pause along with added features like iFloat and Multi video views for multitasking.
