As speculated earlier, Nokia today unveiled their first phablet for the Indian market, i.e., the Lumia 1520 at an event held in Delhi. The device was initially showcased at an event in October.
The phablet is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset which houses a quad-core 2.2GHz processor. Being a true phablet, the device comes with a 6 inch display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with the display being covered in Gorilla Glass 2. Apart from the large screen, the highlights of the device include the aforementioned processor and a 20MP camera that can store images in RAW uncompressed format. The unit comes BSI enabled with an f/2.4 aperture and Carl Zeiss optics.
To complement the powerful processor, Nokia include 2GB of RAM which means multitasking on the device will be a breeze. The phablet will feature Microsoft’s WP8 out of the box, and will have 32GB of on-board ROM and a microSD slot that will accept cards up to 64GB in size. Among other apps, the Lumia 1520 will come with CamScanner, Flipkart, eBooks apps pre-loaded.
The device will be available in Yellow, Red, Black and White, and is priced 46,999 INR.
