Lenovo announced three mid range Android smartphones today which also include Lenovo A859 and Lenovo S930 with similar chipset specifications and camera module. This smartphone with the smallest display amongst the three has been priced at $ 229 which amounts to Rs. 14,300 approx.
The Lenovo S650 embodies a comfortable to hold 4.7 inch display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution. The pixel density of 235 ppi is less than what domestic manufacturers are offering at this price range.
The Lenovo S650 employs low cost Quad core MT6582 chipset from MediaTek Clocked at 1.3 GHz with Mali 400 GPU. The RAM capacity is 1 GB and the internal storage is 8 GB and can be extended to 32 GB using MicroSD card.
The primary auto focus camera has an 8 MP sensor and is capable of full HD 1080P video recording. The camera comes with LED flash for better low light performance. The front camera has been further trimmed down to 0.3 MP (VGA) as compared to Lenovo S930 and Lenovo A859.
The Battery capacity is 2000 mAh which is pretty standard. This dual SIM phablet is only 8.7 mm thick and weighs moderate 126 grams. Connectivity features include, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS.
Lenovo will showcase this phone at CES starting next week and according to Lenovo, it will be available for purchase immediately in countries like India, where Lenovo phones are sold. It will compete with Phones like Moto G which is confirmed to arrive in India in early January.
