Nokia Lumia 520 was immensely successful smartphone worldwide and now Nokia has launched its successor, the Nokia Lumia 525 (Hands On Initial Review) , in India with attractive price tag of Rs. 10,399. The body design and dimensions remain similar to Lumia 520 along with most other hardware specifications.
The display is 4 inches in size and sports WVGA 480 X 800 Pixel resolution. The display is super sensitive and can be used with gloves put on. The pixel density of 233 ppi makes it a usable display in the budget range.
The Same MSM8227 Snapdragon S4 Dual core processor clocked at 1 GHz and assisted by Adreno 305 GPU is used in this smartphone, but the RAM capacity has been doubled to 1 GB which will definitely pump up the performance. The internal storage is 8 GB and can be further extended to 64 GB using MicroSD card.
The camera module also remains similar with 5 MP camera with 1/ 4 inch sensor size with 2592х1936 pixels. The primary camera is capable of full HD video recording at 30 fps. Secondary camera is not present in this device.
The battery capacity is 1430 mAh and you will get 336 hours of standby time and up to 10 hrs 40 min of talk time on 3G. Music playback time you can extract from this battery is 48 hours. Connectivity features include GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, and GPS with AGPS support and GLONASS.
The Nokia Lumia 525 is a good budget windows phone apt for basic users. Nokia has tweaked Lumia 520 with most conspicuous change being added RAM and launched it for the same launch price as that of Nokia Lumia 520. Since Nokia Lumia 520 has been so successful, it is expected that Nokia 525 will fare well in the retail sector. You can buy this phone in glossy Orange, White, Yellow and matte black colors for Rs. 10,399 starting later this week.
