The hottest toy in town, the Motorola Moto G is reportedly in line to receive an Android v4.4 KitKat upgrade sooner than expected. The Moto G was launch just in the country just 2 days back. It the dual SIM version that was launch which is expected to receive the update.
In a reported run by GadgetMTech Blog, the pocket-friendly quad-core device is already in the receiving end of a KitKat upgrade in Malaysia. If that is the case indeed, we can expect the Indian counterpart to soon start getting the update to v4.4 KitKat.
According to the report, the Android v4.4 update comes with a build version 171.44.31.en.03 which might as well be market specific; meaning when it comes to India, the build version will most probably not be the same. However, it is the features that we’re concerned about. Among other minor updates, the Android v4.4 build is expected to bring an all-new dialer app, along with SMS/MMS support to Google’s Hangouts app.
Quickly running through the Moto G specs sheet for those who missed it – the device comes with a 4.5-inch 1280 x 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 8/16GB of on-board storage (no expandable memory), a Snapdragon 400 processor, and a camera department consisting of a 5MP rear and a 1.3MP front shooter.
As mentioned earlier, only the dual SIM version has been on sale in India, that too solely via e-commerce major Flipkart.
