Hp has launched its Slate 6 and Slate 7 Android based voice tablets in India for Rs. 22,990 and Rs. 16,990 respectively. Apart from the difference in display sizes there is not much difference in the spec sheet of both these tablets.
With so many 6 inch smartphones being introduced in Market, the Slate 6 lies more in the phablet category. The 6 inch IPS LCD display sports 1280 x 720 HD resolution (244 ppi), whereas the Slate 7 features 1280 x 800 pixels spread across the 7 inch IPS LCD display (215 ppi).
Both Slate 7 and Slate 6 are powered by 1.2 GHz quad core Marvell PXA1088 processor backed by 1 GB DDR2 RAM and 16 GB internal storage. MicroSD support for up to 32 GB is also present. Software is Android 4.2.2 jelly bean.
The Dual SIM slate 7 and Slate 6 feature a 5 MP camera at the rear and a 2 MP snapper at the front. The Slate 6 enjoys additional LED Flash support. Slate 6 comes with a 3000 mAh li-polymer battery whereas Slate 7 features a slightly larger battery of 4100 mAh to cope up with the increased display size.
Connectivity features include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR and GPS. HP is also providing several introductory offers including 15% off on all In-App purchases using BagIt.com app, Travel vouchers worth Rs. 5,100 using MakeMyTrip.com app, 3 months free subscription of India Today Group digital magazines worth Rs. 2,911 and free music download for 3 months via HP connect music.
